Freestanding Bathroom Faucets

Freestanding Bathroom Faucets

A freestanding bathroom faucet, also called a floor mounted basin faucet, rises from the floor on its own column instead of mounting on a countertop or a wall. It is the natural partner for a freestanding or pedestal sink, which usually has no deck to hold a faucet, and it lets you place the basin anywhere in the room, from the center of a large primary bath to the front of a window.

How a floor mounted faucet works

The water supply runs up through the floor into a concealed rough-in element that is set into the subfloor before the finished flooring is installed. The faucet column then attaches to that element, so only a slim column and a small floor flange remain visible. Because the rough-in goes in early, a freestanding faucet is best planned during new construction or a bathroom remodel and installed by a licensed plumber.

Choosing the right height

Before you order, compare the spout height of the faucet with the rim height of your basin so the spout clears the rim and reaches the center of the bowl. Every MaestroBath freestanding faucet lists its overall height, spout height and spout reach on the product page and in its specification sheet.

Designed and handmade in Italy

MaestroBath freestanding faucets are made in Italy from lead-free brass and offered in a range of finishes, from polished and brushed gold to polished chrome and black. Designed and handmade in Italy from lead-free brass, it is the first freestanding bathroom faucet in the MaestroBath collection, created for freestanding and pedestal sinks that have no deck or countertop to hold a faucet.

CASO is defined by clean geometry. A slender round column rises from a compact 3.8 inch floor flange and ends in a flat rectangular spout, with a matching flat lever set just above it to control flow and temperature with one hand. Standing on its own beside the basin, the faucet reads as a single architectural line that frames a sculptural sink instead of competing with it.

Made for freestanding and pedestal sinks

A freestanding or pedestal sink rarely has a surface for a deck mounted faucet, and a wall mounted spout needs an open wall directly behind the bowl. A floor mounted faucet solves both. CASO can be placed beside the basin anywhere the plumbing reaches the floor, which makes it a natural choice for a sink set in the middle of a room or in front of a window. The spout outlet sits 39.8 inches above the finished floor, so compare that height with the rim height of your basin to confirm clearance before you order. It is shown here with the Calla Lily Pedestal Sink.

Installation

The floor concealed rough-in element is included. It is set into the subfloor before the finished flooring goes down, sits about 2 inches (50 mm) below the finished floor, and carries 1/2 inch BSP (G1/2) hot and cold connections, so your plumber may use standard NPT adapters to tie into US supply lines. Because the rough-in goes in early, plan this faucet during new construction or a bathroom remodel, and have it installed by a licensed plumber.
