Gunmetal is the finish for a room that wants something dark without going to black. It is a deep gray with warmth underneath, so it reads as metal rather than as paint, and it keeps a visible grain because it is brushed rather than polished.
Against black the difference is obvious in daylight: black is flat and absorbs, gunmetal still moves as you walk past it. Against chrome it is far quieter. It sits well with concrete, dark timber and honed stone, and it stops a pale room from looking unfinished.
The finish is applied over solid lead free brass and the brushed surface hides fingerprints better than anything polished. Spout reach and spout height are listed on every faucet, and a free sample will tell you more than any photograph.
