White is the finish to specify when the faucet is not meant to be the point. Against a white basin it very nearly disappears, and what you notice instead is the shape of the bowl and the line of the counter.
The color is baked onto solid lead free brass rather than sprayed on, so it holds its surface and does not yellow the way a lacquered white will. It is a matte surface, which means it hides water spotting better than any polished metal in the range.
