A black vanity is the largest single decision in a bathroom, because the cabinet is the biggest object in the room and black does not blend. It either anchors the scheme or it fights it, and there is not much middle ground.
It works best in two situations. In a pale room it becomes the one dark mass everything else is arranged around, which is the easiest way to give a white bathroom a center. In a dark room it disappears entirely and the basin sitting on top becomes the whole event, which is why black cabinets pair so often with a gold leaf or crystal bowl.
The finishes here are not all the same black. Lacquer is flat and modern. The crocodile textures carry a relief that catches light at the edges. The two tone pieces put black against gold, silver or white, usually as a frame rather than a split.
Wall hung is worth considering at any width, because lifting the cabinet off the floor keeps the tile running underneath and stops a dark mass reading as heavy.
