A pull out kitchen faucet carries a spray head that detaches from the spout and returns on a counterweighted braided steel hose. For anyone who genuinely cooks it is the more useful design, because you can rinse the walls of the basin, fill a stock pot standing on the counter, and aim the water where the work is rather than where the spout happens to point.
